New Era University (Pampanga branch) was established with the noble objective, level of idealism and supreme mission: To offer quality education to the brethren of the Iglesia Ni Cristo in Central Luzon. With a growing clamor for a learning facility where the youths of the INC are nurtured with the same values enshrined in its doctrines. The clamor became even louder, coupled with a genuine desire to put up a school for the brethren out of town. The INC Executive Minister, Brother Eraño G. Manalo, the school’s founding visionary, favorably acted on the brethren's request.
In a fitting culmination of a string of events that the INC leadership, Brother Eraño G. Manalo, the Deputy Executive Minister, Bro. Eduardo V. Manalo, and the then-School President, Bro. Antonio F. Tupaz the Pampanga branch finally commenced its initial operations. The branch became the school's second home outside of Metro Manila.
On May 5, 1994, Bro. Eraño G. Manalo signed a directive granting authority to NEU to establish a branch in San Fernando, Pampanga.
On June 2, 1994, the Branch College granted a permit to operate by the then-DECS (now CHED & DepEd) the Pre-school and Elementary (Grades 1-4) courses, while awaiting the formal recognition given in 1996.
In June 1994, the operation of the Pampanga Branch formally started. The Branch had an initial enrollment of 234 pupils from Nursery to Grade 4. The branch initially shared the facilities of the INC chapel compound in San Fernando, Pampanga, until a suitable lot was found.
During the School Year 1995-1996, the branch opened its formal academic offerings. High School classes started and a three-story school building was constructed to accommodate the growing student population. Enrollees swelled to 630 students.
The years that followed clearly indicated an active and dynamic existence. As early as its second year of operation, a two-story building for High School was opened in a sprawling 1.5-hectare lot in Brgy. Dela Paz Norte, San Fernando, Pampanga, to accommodate the first batch of high school students.
During School Year 2000-2001, NEU Pampanga Branch proudly witnessed the graduation of its first batch of High School students. It also marked the initial offering of college courses. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted a permit to operate the Bachelor of Arts (A.B.), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.), Bachelor of Secondary Education (B.S.E.d.) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.E.Ed.). The branch had an initial college enrollment of 32 students. The "pioneers" paved the way for more students to enroll. Through God's guidance and blessings, the Pampanga Branch continues to flourish and consistently pursue its commitment to educational excellence while molding its students into becoming upright and dedicated citizens who are imbued with Christian values.
The branch also built additional structures like a covered court, computer laboratories, and a modern library. The steady increase in enrollment is a clear indication of the trust and confidence that the brethren and the community have in NEU Pampanga Branch as an educational institution that provides quality education.
