NEUAAI SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS AWARDED TO 30 AGRICULTURE STUDENTS
July 20, 2021 |
The New Era University Rizal Campus continues to pursue its works on agriculture and education despite the prevailing global health crisis. One of the manifestations of such works is the recently conducted online scholarship handover ceremony on June 30, 2021. Scholarship grants were given to 30 students of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture program by the New Era University Alumni Association Incorporated (NEUAAI). The ceremony was part of the celebration of the 4th founding anniversary of the campus which houses the College of Agriculture. It was attended by the university officials, ministerial overseers, faculty, students, and NEUAAI representatives.
University President Dr. Nilo L. Rosas opened the ceremony by his welcome speech, acknowledging and thanking everyone for their collective efforts in helping the students finance their studies thus bringing them a step closer to their dreams. College of Agriculture Dean Dr. Perigio B. Francisco, Jr. said that scholarship grants will support the training of students to become future agriculturists, who will contribute to the university’s battle against poverty, hunger, and food insecurity. This work, especially on food security, is not only for the university nor for the community where it is in, but for the entire country, as it is aligned to one of the university’s vision: service to humanity.
Then, NEUAAI President Atty. Dr. Randy B. Escolango encouraged the scholarship grantees to give back to their alma mater once they finish their studies. The act of helping back is one of the simplest things an alumnus or alumna can do out of gratitude. Then, the scholarship recipients had a video presentation which showed how thankful they are. They talked about how the scholarship will be helpful not only to them but also to their families. Included in the video presentation was a parent of one of the grantees who was happy upon hearing the news about his child receiving the scholarship. The students pledged to study well so that the grants they received will be worth it.
In the final part of the program, NEU Rizal Campus Director, Brother Joey M. Red, also expressed his appreciation to the benefactors for their financial assistance to the students. In his thanksgiving speech, he thanked everyone involved for the success of this event.
Glory be to God!!!
