In spite of heavy rain and an early schedule, selected NEU students from different Colleges, led by NEU Center for Community Extension and Linkages (CCEL) department, gathered to help clean the coast of Baseco, Manila on September 21, 2019 as part of the 34th International Coastal Cleanup (ICC). The ICC is an annual activity administered by International Coastal Cleanup Philippines (ICC Philippines) which is also the National Coordinator of Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, the world's largest volunteer effort for the marine environment.

New Era University encourage its students to promote "Service to Humanity" as one of NEU's core values, and one way of doing this is by helping the community in taking care of the environment we live in. It is expected that by greater awareness about the current situation of the different waterways in the country are instilled to the delegates, mainly the youth.

It was all smiles after the event. Even though exhausted, the fact that everyone are united in one goal for nature is a truly sight worth seeing.
