College of Respiratory Therapy

The College of Respiratory Therapy (CRT) is one of the academic departments of the Center for Medical and Allied Health Sciences (CMAHS) and it obtained its permit to operate from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 2015 under the academic deanship of Prof. Danahlyn D. Evangelista. The Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy is a four-year program consisting of general health science education subjects and professional subjects. The first and second semesters of the fourth year level includes the 10-month clinical internship program in an accredited training laboratory with rotational duties in different sections of one or more hospitals. Currently, the affiliate hospitals of the College are the Makati Medical Center, the Chinese General Hospital and the National Kidney and Transplant Institute. The College has a well-stocked and updated Respiratory Therapy book collection and its Respiratory Therapy laboratory is designed to give students hands-on clinical experience which includes different kinds of mechanical ventilators, Spirometry, adult and pediatric mannequins for CPR and intubation, airway care and other respiratory therapy equipment.
