College of Communication
In 1979, the Bachelor of Arts – Major in Mass Communication program was offered under the auspices of the Department of Mass Communication, College of Arts and Sciences by virtue of a recognition granted by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as part of the Liberal Arts Program. The College of Communication (COC) was officially established on July 17, 2014 as an offshoot from the College of Arts and Sciences through a government recognition granted to the BA Communication Program. In August 2018, the permit to operate was granted to two new programs – Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting. The Bachelor of Arts in Communication aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills in the theory and practice of communication applicable in various professions and contexts, with focus on the media professions.
